I know that life is much more complicated than that and that only assholes pretend to be happy all the time. The thing to remember, though, is that this isn’t all the time. This is just one moment in time when you want to highlight all the good shit in your life.
You wouldn’t go to a job interview with stains on your shirt and crap stuck in your teeth, would you? Even if you look like that most of the time, you would endeavor to put your best foot forward. Dating is no different. Here are some ideas to get you started.

A smile goes a long way. It shouldn’t be one of those cheesy fake smiles, just one that is natural and genuine. Try going through pics you already have of yourself and choose some that show you at your happiest. You don’t have to pose for a serious dating site selfie, just use (recently taken) pictures you already have. If you don’t have any, get somebody to take a few the next time you’re out.
2. The Funny Guy
Humor is sexy. Maybe not the kind of humour that requires props (like fake vomit) but hey, if that’s your shtick, there’s probably some vomit-lovin’ girl out there. Show a little bit of your personality, and dazzle the ladies with your unique brand of hilarity! There’s something so hot about a guy who can laugh at himself, even as he’s desperately trying to get laid.
3. The Confident Guy
Speaking of super hotness, confident guys have it in spades. It doesn’t even matter what you’re confident about. You could be the world’s best nose picker, just as long as you own it. (Maybe I’m exaggerating a little bit there.) The point is, you want to come across as secure and sure of yourself.
Post pictures of you doing what you’re good at. Just be sure not to be obnoxious about it and enter into arrogant territory. Think random pic of you playing an instrument on stage, or engaging in some axe throwing. Or eating a hundred hotdogs in a tournament, whatever you got.
4. The Sensitive Guy
Do you like kittens? Perhaps you’re a volunteer for some kind of non-profit? If any of these types of things resonate with you, play that shit up. Post pictures of you holding your cat, or feeding your cute little gerbil. But don’t do any of that if it’s not 100% legit. Don’t just borrow a friend’s puppy for the afternoon because any woman who agrees to meet you will see right through that, and it will blow up in your face.
